Guide to Advertising
6.1 Guidelines
IRs may arrange their own advertising in print or electronic media, but must be certain to state clearly that they are an Independent Representative with MapleLeaf CA and that they are looking for customers and/or representatives.
6.2 Internet advertising policy for MapleLeaf CA IRs
MapleLeaf CA allows its IRs to place approved advertising on the Internet to promote the MapleLeaf IR Opportunity, and MapleLeaf products and services. However any websites or URLs designating these websites on which such advertisements are placed may not be obscene, pornographic or otherwise deemed harmful to Maple Leaf’s reputation as determined by MapleLeaf CA In addition, URLs of websites used for advertising the MapleLeaf Opportunity, and MapleLeaf CA products and services may not contain any term that is a trademark, copyright or proprietary right held by MapleLeaf CA
6.3 Using a search engine to register IR personal websites
If approved in advance by MapleLeaf CA , IRs may register their IR personal website with Internet search engines using the search names MAPLELEAFCAIR. These search engines must link only with the IR’s personal website.
6.4 Banner advertising and links
IRs using banner ads on other websites that link to the IR’s personal website shall display their name and designation as a MapleLeaf CA representative clearly on the banner ad.
6.5 Telephone usage
- MapleLeaf CA prohibits IRs from answering the telephone in such a way that callers have reason to believe that they have reached the corporate offices of MapleLeaf CA
- Use of the name in the yellow pages is also prohibited, but IRs may list their name in the white pages of the telephone book so long as the title Independent Representative accompanies the IR name in the listing along with that of MapleLeaf CA Inc
6.6 Recruitment advertising
Recruitment advertising may be used in newspapers or posted on websites. The ad must make it clear that the position is not for employment but that the advertiser is seeking Independent Representatives.
6.7 Trade shows and other sales forums
IRs may promote their businesses at events such as conventions and trade shows providing that the participating IR completes a request to the marketing department in writing for signage approval before making a deposit to the event organiser.
IRs must register for the event under their name or the name of their business. Any IR wishing to promote his/her business at such and event must also obtain the consent of the organization responsible for holding the event.
In no case shall the IR represent the MapleLeaf CA Business Opportunity as an employment opportunity.
6.8 Electronic Communication
IRs are required to abide by all applicable laws and regulations regarding electronic communications.
All electronic communications should be clear, honest and complete so that the recipient will know the exact nature of what is offered. Claims that are untrue, misleading deceptive or fraudulent will not be tolerated. In addition to damages or penalties provided by in the law, violation of this may subject the IR to termination of his/her position.

6.10 Translation of materials
MapleLeaf CA appreciates that its IRs come from a diverse group. In accordance with Canadian law, all materials will be available in both English and French. As well we are aware of the need for translation of our materials into other languages.
While we permit IRs to translate any of our materials not currently available in a specific language, MapleLeaf CA assumes no liability for the accuracy of any published materials. IRs using translated materials are solely responsible for the correct and accurate translation of all information and will be held liable and accountable for any misrepresentation or inaccurate information distributed. Any expense incurred will be the responsibility of each IR and translated materials may not be sold under any circumstances.
